Blurb

Marc longs for a grand romance, but he doubts he'll ever be that lucky. Then he meets Darius, an arrogant tailor who pushes all his buttons. When Darius offers him a job, Marc hesitates-he needs a direction for the future, not another man who doesn't believe in relationships.

Darius lives by a few unbreakable rules: never sleep with employees, fashion should be simple, and romance is for fools. Marc, with his shimmery-sweaters collection, makes him want to break every single one.

They quickly give in to desire, but Darius wants to protect himself and Marc refuses to repeat past mistakes. It's only when they let go of assumptions, that love has a chance to take hold.

Well-Tailored is a companion novel to the Thorne and Dash series. It can be read as a standalone.

Carra's Review

I’m already a huge fan of the Thorne and Dash books, so when I found out Marc was getting his own story I was excited for him to get his chance at a happy ending.  After reading Well-Tailored, I have to say I loved finding out more about Marc—and Darius was amazingly entertaining with his filthy mouth.  The banter between the two of them was endlessly amusing to me with each of them giving as good as they got.

A lot of parallels can be drawn between Darius and Marc’s relationship as compared to Thorne and Riley’s in terms of personalities and tastes.  But where Thorne and Riley felt more sensual and passionate when it can to their intimate relations, Darius and Marc felt more raw and primal, almost animalistic in their intensity together.  Both of them want to resist each other for both personal and professional reasons, but neither can seem to refrain from indulging in their physical—and eventually emotional—relationship with each other.

What I loved most about this story were the interactions between Darius and Marc…not just the sexual ones (which were on the scalding side of hot!), but especially when they are talking with each other as their wordplay was like watching a tennis match as they threw words back and forth.  That was a strong factor behind me becoming wrapped up in this story as the two of them held my rapt attention every time they got started.

For the most part this story was relatively low-angst, with one slight misunderstanding near the end (that can be chalked up to Marc’s too-fast reactionary response to Darius, something that frustrated me the moment it happened).  It was more about two men who have been hurt in the past slowly opening up to each other emotionally while following a more immediate path physically.

Well-Tailored was a 4.5-star read for me, and this story complements the Thorne and Dash series quite nicely.  I loved getting to see more of Thorne and Riley…and while this book could technically be read as a standalone, I would highly recommend reading the Thorne and Dash books first simply because I truly believe it will enhance a reader’s enjoyment of this story having that background.  Well-Tailored is meant strictly for readers 18+ for adult language (Darius has a serious potty mouth!) and explicit M/M sexual content.
