Genre: Historical Erotic Romance
Publisher: Blushing Books
Publication Date: April 12, 2017
Gabriel Blakeney is a man who protects those he loves at all costs. If that means becoming a highwayman to help support the community that raised him, then that's what he'll do. Risking his life each night, he robs from the rich to redistribute among the poor. He does it to survive. But what he'd really like is to find a woman of his own to protect and love. Despairing of ever finding her, things change one night when he meets Lady Caroline Godwin. Here is a lady who needs protecting all right-from herself.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. And Lady Godwin is desperate. Her father has lost a fortune at cards and is bed bound after a stroke. Somehow, she must raise the money within a month or lose her home. Worse, she may be forced to marry the despicable Lord Shard-her father's creditor-to protect the family name and pay the debt. Frantic, Lady Caroline remembers being held up a few weeks ago. She makes the audacious decision to rob the handsome highwayman. But Caroline gets far more than she bargained for.
With card sharps, traitors, and the militia to worry about, Gabriel and Caroline find danger ever present. He is determined to keep her safe throughout, even if that means a trip over his knee.
Publisher's note: This romance contains elements of discipline, and explicitly described sexual encounters.
The story is full of twists and turns, passion, punishments, theft, schemes, setting a trap, seeking revenge and gaining restitution.
- Kathy Heare Watts, Goodreads Reviewer
A heartwarming adventure. This book is a delightful, feel-good journey, with some mild discipline scenes and moderate love scenes. It is full of humor, danger and adventure, with well-developed characters and an interesting twist.

Guest Post

My name is Vanessa Liebe and I write fun & sexy erotic romances, both contemporary and historical. Today I’d like to talk about the importance of sexual tension in a Romance, especially Erotic Romance.

Readers are anticipating that first kiss between the hero and heroine since page one of any romance story, or erotic romance. Therefore it needs to be a good one, putting the reader right there in amongst the action. If the sexual tension has been heightened enough the reader would want to be kissing the hero too. The first kiss is an important step in any relationship and takes the sexual tension to a new, higher level of intimacy. Without that tension, the story falls flat.

Below are some examples on how this is done.

When the heroine notices something particular about her man that lets the reader know she’s falling for him, for example his strong hands or his gorgeous yet guarded green eyes, the tension is much more effective. The reader shouldn’t be simply told the hero is “hot.” Instead, the character is shown to be hot by the reactions of the observer. The best way to achieve this is through physical and mental reactions such as flushing, feeling faint, tingling sensations in parts of their body, an inability to speak, etc. Characters who are sexually attracted either find any excuse to touch each other in casual interaction or try to avoid the other person because they’re afraid they might lose control. Either way, these small intimacies, or when the opportunity for having them is avoided, show sexual tension.

The level of sensuality in the novel will dictate what the characters notice about one another. In a sweet romance, the heroine isn’t going to notice a guy has a hard on in his jeans for her, but in an erotic romance she definitely will. The sexual tension has to fit the situation.

There is no tension at all if there aren’t things that pull the two main characters apart sexually as well as pull them together. There needs to be believable reasons why the couple can’t come together initially. It helps if the two main characters want to know more about each other and they can do this by dropping their guards, letting the other person in. Secrets or flaws of character are revealed, vulnerabilities, or maybe past experiences. All of these things show the reader how important each of them are becoming to one another.

How about you? Is there a favourite part in a book you’ve read which shows perfect sexual tension?
