Personal Challenges was a fantastic way to catch up with all of the characters from this series.  Even though as readers we all usually read a couple's happily ever after ending and think "well that's a great finish to their story", life still goes on for those characters and chances are they'll eventually come up against other hurdles in their lives.  This book lets us have a look at what comes after that HEA for these couples while still keeping their stories fresh and interesting.

I loved being able to visit again with all of them, and it's obvious each couple has only grown closer and their bonds stronger--not just as couples but also everyone as a group of friends.  This makes Personal Challenges feel like you're coming home to your own family as you read, and made it easy to slip back into their world.  As the title implies, everyone has challenges come into their lives-Blake and Will with their new son, Rick and Angelo with their wedding plans, and Ed and Colin with the return of an ex-and seeing them face those challenges with the strength of their love for each other makes for a comfortable and enjoyable read.

As for the heat between each couple?  That hasn't diminished one iota.  They all get plenty of page time for intimate scenes which are just as steamy as when the couples had their own stories.  And as for the emotion?  That's back too, and the bits of drama from what is going on in their lives now as well.

It was such a pleasure being able to return to the Personal world, it really put a smile on my face to join these familiar characters that I so enjoyed the first time around again.  Personal Challenges gets 4.5 stars from me, and is definitely a must-read for fans of this series.  I would strongly recommend that the previous books in this series be read before starting this one, while I guess you could read this on its own I think you'll enjoy it so much more if you've read the stories that got these characters to this point first.  This story is meant for readers 18+ only for adult language and M/M sexual content.

K.C. Wells started writing in 2012, although the idea of writing a novel had been in her head since she was a child. But after reading that first gay romance in 2009, she was hooked.

She now writes full time, and the line of men in her head, clamouring to tell their story, is getting longer and longer. If the frequent visits by plot bunnies are anything to go by, that’s not about to change anytime soon.
