From animosity to searing passion in a lunar cycle...but can their bond survive?

Wolf shifter Nathan Kohl's pack is his whole life. Arrogant and handsome, he avoids commitment to anything or anyone outside of his pack. He works hard, plays hard, and pursues humans as lovers because there's little to no chance of him forming a permanent bond. However, when Jared Taylor comes into Nathan's life, every rule is broken.

After a bad experience, Jared vowed to never get involved with another shifter, no matter how much they got under his skin. Despite being physically attracted to Nathan, who's all kinds of hot, Jared only sees an arrogant, domineering bastard.

A disastrous case of mistaken identity throws Nathan and Jared together until the next full moon. Forced to spend the next twenty-eight days in close proximity, they can no longer ignore the powerful attraction between them. Passion ignites, and their relationship takes a turn neither of them wanted.

But when the full moon comes, everything might change again.

Carra's Review

I'm a sucker for a good paranormal romance, and Bitten By Mistake just pressed all my favorite buttons and then some.  Wolf shifters who are out in society, territorial packs, humans getting caught up in their world...these things provide suspense and action while the characters provide drama, passion and the possibility of mate bonding within the framework of an enemies-to-lovers setting.  Like I said-my favorite buttons.

For me, this story was totally character driven.  Yes, the action and pack politics provided plenty of story...but it was the characters' personalities and how they related to each other that really drove everything as I was reading.  Jared has his hard opinion of shifters, his dislike stemming from a past relationship.  He hangs on to his views quite strongly, and has no qualms about sharing them.  Nathan is cocky and sexy with a dominating personality and strong pack loyalty.  While their first meeting doesn't go so well for him, a horrible mistake later winds up with the two of them unexpectedly thrown together whether they like it or not.

With their chemistry, the constant togetherness-VERY close contact togetherness-results in an overload of heat and passion that is inevitable and drives the tension higher as their bond becomes stronger.  Pull those pack politics into the mix, and the drama shoots through the roof-which for me meant not putting this book down for anything.

Even though this is a mate scenario, at no time did I ever get any kind of instalove type vibe from the story.  Jared is constantly putting off Nathan's advances, staying away from him until they just can't for the sake of Nathan and Jared's safety.  Once on that road though--things are never the same again and the connection that forms between the two of them feels intense and so solid that you can't imagine it being broken-period.

My only nit-pick from the whole story was that the ending didn't quite feel solid and finished.  There's references to some secondary characters that make it seem like there may be more stories to come, and I truly hope that is the case.  Speaking of the secondary characters...they are just as well developed as the main ones, and I thought they provided additional depth to the story.  The way they are written had me intrigued for more-another reason I'm hoping for more stories in this world.

With excellent writing that resulted in a smooth, exciting read with plenty of sizzling passion, Bitten By Mistake was a 4.5 star read for me.  I highly recommend it to M/M paranormal romance fans (especially if you're into wolf shifters), and this is strictly for readers 18+ due to adult language and explicit M/M sexual content.  As in scorching, panty-melting, crank up the A/C and surround yourself with ice scenes...which surprisingly enough don't overwhelm the story at all.
